What should I even come to therapy for?

Here are some of the common concerns that therapy can be useful in addressing:

Anxiety

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Depression

Feeling low, having a hard time motivating yourself, feeling guilt, losing interest in things you used to love, and crying more than usual can all be signs that depression could be part of your life.

Life Changes/Role Changes

Maybe you’ve recently had a breakup, graduated from college, moved cities, gotten married, or had a child. These changes can be jarring and you may be feeling lost.

Trauma

From childhood or more recently, trauma can stick with us and can be difficult to process through without help. Trauma can be abuse, assault, car accidents, a break-in/robbery, racism, bullying, or anything that you might have a hard time shaking afterwards. Trauma is not a life-sentence and we can work together towards your healing.

Concentration

Difficulty concentrating or having a hard time sustaining your focus is not a lack of discipline. Sometimes something else can be contributing to your difficulty concentrating. We can sort through what is going on and find new strategies to increase focus and productivity.

Relationships

Sometimes relationships can be challenging and you may notice new feelings of doubt, difficulty communicating, or struggling to feel emotionally safe in a relationship. Maybe you’ve experienced infidelity or a loss of trust in your relationship. Some of these things can be addressed in couples counseling with you and your partner together, but sometimes we need to sort through our feelings on our own, one on one with your own therapist.
